West Boca Reloads: Snappers Bring Plenty of Firepower Back to the Plate

While many believe that defense wins championships, West Boca’s 2025 championship campaign was driven primarily by its ability to score runs. The Snappers scored a barrage of runs during its fifth championship season and fittingly ended the year with a 6-run winner in its championship win over the Beach Boys. With some new faces on the WB squad, who should you see step up in the hunt for championship number six?

It’d be impossible to discuss West Boca’s offense and not mention infielder Taro Pustilnik. The sophomore hit an astonishing .339 this past season at Arcadia university, but can do more than hit for contact. The Park Vista native also totaled 13 extra bases… a career high. Fortunately for the Snappers, Pustilnik isn’t the only infielder who's had success at the plate. Johnson and Wales infielder Marco Fernandez travels to West Boca after homering eight times at school this past season. The infielder just hit home runs, but also nabbed 8 stolen bases.

Moving to the grass, West Boca’s outfield is headlined by Sante Fe College outfielder Joseph Calise who posted a .273 average as just a Freshman. Calise isn’t the only Snapper that does a good job getting on base. Indian River State College Outfielder Anthony Espinoza .364 OBP. The Greenacres native's OBP wasn’t his only career high; he also eclipsed 20 hits.

Even though West Boca will need a variety of players to step up after losing some of its 2025 championships lineup. The snappers most definitely have plenty to look forward to at the plate this season.
